Dear EZ, Can your listeners help a sista out?

Dear EZ,

Can your listeners help a sista out?

I have 2 kids by my boyfriend who has been locked up for 7 years. I am a bit concerned because he's mentioned he believes that even if a man does have relations with a man in jail that does not make him gay. I was shocked. He gets out soon. How should I approach the situation? I've heard stories of women getting HIV like this. I don't want to be the next one.

Don't Want HIV

I speak from what I've seen as a EX- Correctional Officer. When a man becomes incarcerated he makes a choice of who he wants to be by what groups he becomes a part of.

First, Men take advatage of this situation to come out and reveil thier inner needs. Meaning he is really gay.

Second, Some men are abused and are voilently taken into possion of another man. so when a man speaks out it might be because he wants help.

Lastly, There are women offciers there. I had many past co-workers lose they're jobs over getting invovled with inmates. So there is other forms for them to be sexual and it not be with a man. Believe it .

It'll really be up to what really happen to him. In many cases a relationship with a previously incerated man might not function due to the trama they received while being incarcerated.
