Akon Speaks His Mind
Just in case you missed it, here is the video of Akon dancing with a Trinidadian teen that had the internet goin' nuts a few weeks ago:
Last week Akon released a statement apologizing for the incident, but yesterday he spoke exclusively to EZ Street of 93.9 WKYS on how he really feels about what happened and the ensuing controversy.

Akon is smart... unfortunately... it's sad to hear him respond so unapologetically. His statement was heavily loaded with contradiction and hyprocrisy!
Is he trying to say that had it not been a teen, he'd still do it?! As a grown women who appreciates reggae, I wouldn't allow a man to drag me around the floor, or have me hang around his neck like I'm a monkey, as he dry humps me all over the stage... it's preposterous how un-apologetic he was and a contradiction in action to his 'positive community outreach' and foundations.
For someone to say that they have so much at stake to lose... there's wasn't much fore-thought in the consequences of his action.
As a man who constantly performs, he should know that minors are always going to be at concerts... and at clubs... whether or not security has proper measures in place. The club is another venue to make 'beaucoup' money other than touring.
So he really needs to get real with it.
I could seriously go on all day. But that's my piece of mind.
P.s. Love the site by the way! :)

I feel like this, not that it makes a situation correct, but any person that goes on stage with these artist KNOWS whats gonna happen when they are there. I personally would never go on stage because I know the end result. This girl knew what was gonna happen because they do the same thing in Trinidad day after day. Not excusing what he did, but I dont feel that his not apologizing was wrong. He did what he does at his shows. It isnt his fault that a child was there. It is the fault of the club if they allow minors to enter to make money. I havent heard the club owners apologize for this. Apparently the girl has gone to the club prior.I attend many things in Trinidad and let me tell you that was nothing compared to some of the things I have seen and sure to continue to see. Ladies...Lesson DO NOT GO ON STAGE WITH AN ARTIST IF YOU DONT WANT TO RISK THAT BEHAVIOR. Not all artist are like that but for the most part you know which ones could be. Children need to stay out of the club. Club owners need to be responsible for insuring that the person is of age. I dont care if its your best friend, if they are not of age especially on a night with an artist who does adult content they need not be there. I think he apologized to Trinidad once and thats all that he needs to do. I agree with him, why is all the blame being placed on him. If they girl wasnt underage we would have never heard about it so apparently the dancing was never the problem just the age of the girl. So, why should he take all the blame when as he said its not his place to come stand at the door and card people. That is the responsibility of the club. All he did was dance very xrated with a girl who happened to be under age. The way she was very seductively dressed sure tricked me. There was also a part on the video that isnt show often where she is sitting on top of Akon and his hands is to the back of his head so he isnt touching her and she is whining up on him, but that part isnt shown, why? perhaps because it would show that she was enjoying herself just as much. Showing the rough part of the dance makes it as if she didnt participate at all. It paints one picture. Again, no excuses we all must be responsible for the part we play in a situation, but one person isnt the sole blame in this one.
